Dean and Sam Winchester Become Born Again

Sam is, in fact, non experiencing healthy levels of crazy, and we find him literally running from the devil in his mind. It's been five days without sleep, and our Sammy is a mess. He locates a dealer who sells him something to aid him sleep, merely it doesn't piece of work. And equally he runs again from Match, he'southward hit by a motorcar.

Dean bursts into a doctor's function demanding to know about Sam. Later on the motorcar crash, he was admitted for a broken rib and lacerations….and a total blown psychotic episode. The dr. takes him to see Sam.

Dean is determined to find a solution to Sam's brain/soul problems. Sam's and so tired that he'south resigned to dying.

Dean starts making calls for leads on a healer for Sam. It doesn't go well –until a mysterious wind (BOBBY) knocks a business carte to the footing. Dean calls the number and leaves a message.

Sam continues to receive help at the hospital, and by aid, I mean Lucifer continues to torture him relentlessly. "Y'all, me, locked ward. Is it me, or is this just like the Cage?" Oh, Match, fuck you.

Afterwards, Sam starts eating a maggot burger when another patient, Marin, oversees his crazy in activeness.

Meanwhile, Dean gets a callback from the concern he left a message with earlier. Information technology turns out this guy was healed by a homo named Emmanuel a while back. He didn't believe it to be real, only the homo cured the blindness in one of his eyes. He's the real bargain (That'due south correct he is!)

Marin interrupts Sam'southward regularly scheduled torture with an offer of a chocolate bar. Lucifer freaks Sam out before they can talk too much and Marin runs away.

Dean makes a beeline for Emmanuel's habitation.

He's not greeted by the healer, or his wife, but a demon. Dean notices the married woman, Daphne, tied up inside just in time to have out the demon. (What demon ties up their victim in the front window?) Dean knifes the demon and shoves the body downward the porch stairs where it lands at the feet of Emmanuel!

Yep, it turns out Emmanuel is our poor dead Castiel, only he doesn't know it. Emmanuel releases his married woman from her ties while a very confused? Concerned? Jealous? Angst ridden? What the hell kind of emotions are all over your face up, Dean? I think you're supposed to be confused and angry, but boy, that face is not telling that story. He asks for help for Sam.

*Insert Sam being tortured past Lucifer*

Dean and Emmanuel are on the road, and Dean asks nigh Daphne.

It seems she found Emmanuel a couple months agone by a river, drenched and dislocated, and completely naked. Heed lady, I COMPLETELY empathise your actions here, just really? Instead of taking the confused amnesiac to the hospital, you lot marry him? Like, HOW? (I kind of dearest how this whole story with Daphne, whom nosotros never run into again, makes no sense. Marin brings Sam another processed bar. This time Sam tin talk, and he asks her why she'due south hither. Doctor answer: She's psychotically depressed with suicidal ideations. Her respond: She simply wants it all to be over. She and so asks Sam about the voices he hears. "Just one really." "Who is it, like Charlie Manson or the devil?" Oh, I see what you did there show. Hahaha. Poor Sam. Marin so admits to hearing a voice. Sam asks almost her burns and she gets upset and reveals her brother is talking to her. I just fucking Dear Sam Winchester in this episode. Similar, dude, your encephalon is broken, and you yet solve a case? All the hearts.

While Emmanuel and Dean drive, Dean passively aggressively takes out his pain and acrimony nigh Cas…to Cas. "Dude broke my blood brother's head," Dean confesses, and then admits that the dude is gone. Emmanuel wonders if Dean killed him. "Honestly, I don't know if he is dead." Lol, Dean, he's sitting right next to y'all. Dean tells Emmanuel that for some reason (HHMMMM) he just can't let information technology go, what Cas did.

They pull over at a convenience store and Dean heads inside for some quick snacks. His spidey sense tingles just before a demon tries to attack him. Dean swiftly kills the demon, just to exist confronted by ii more. It's looking bad for Dean-o when one of the demons gets stabbed from behind. It's Meg!

Meg tells Dean that she'southward been trying to rail down this highly-sought-after Emmanuel fella. And she's shocked – just SHOCKED – that he's traveling with Dean and is the "spitting image of poor, expressionless Castiel." Dean hisses at her to go on her trap shut. He's trying to shield Castiel from the truth. Meg doesn't care then much about the feelings of Castiel-the-Christmas-Angel as much equally she wants protection from Crowley. "I'thousand here to help you lot," Meg informs a reluctant Dean. "And that makes us friends." She'll human action as backup to Dean and get some protection in return.

This logic is enough to sugariness talk Dean into letting her tag along and they head dorsum to the car together. Emmanuel immediately sees her demonic visage and Dean speedily tells Emmanuel that she can exist trusted. They're…friends.

Now that our merry band is together, they head off on the road to find Sam.

Sam, meanwhile, pulls Marin aside in the hallway and tells her that he believes her. He can assistance her with her blood brother.

Sam does the hunter version of a reference interview (hey, librarians, what's up) and determines that Marin feels chills when he's nigh. She reveals that her ghostly brother started to complain about being lonely. Soon after that, the fire erupted and Marin barely escaped - which is how she landed in the closed ward. A very exhausted Sam calmly tells her that her brother is a ghost. "Why should I trust y'all?" she asks. A good question! Sam tells her that he's her best shot. He determines that although her brother was cremated, the bracelet that he gave her likely has his blood on information technology, which is connecting his spirit to Marin.

Back in the holy rollin' hunter car, awkward silence ensues.

"This silence is very uncomfortable," Emmanuel announces. (Me: Yessss yeah it is <iii )

Marin returns to Sam'due south room with a shaker of salt and a lighter. Sam experiences a fun, low key hallucination that the common salt circle they describe is getting diddled away. But it's cool. Everything's FINE. The circle is intact, afterwards all.

Sam gets Marin to stand in the salt circumvolve and talks her through the process. They're going to torch the bracelet and stay in the circle for protection. As before long as they get fix to light up the bracelet, Marin'south blood brother appears and begs her to stop. Million urges Dean to permit her restore Castiel's memories so that they can take him smite his style through the demon hoard. (Man, remember when that was a mutual angel power on Globe? Those were the days.) "I know you lot're enjoying the double dip with your one-time pal," 1000000 begins sardonically. (I read…admittedly NOTHING into that statement.) Dean interrupts. If Cas learns the truth about himself, he could snap or flap off or who knows what.

Emmanuel overhears this and urges Dean to tell him the truth.

1000000: Yous're an angel!

Castiel: Is that a flirtation?

Dean: IS THAT A Amour?

Million: No, it'due south a species.

Dean confirms Meg's analysis. Emmanuel is an angel and it's a function that sucks donkey. "It's bloody, information technology'southward decadent…"

A little afterwards, Sam's resting in bed while Dean and Cas whisper almost him in the corner. Castiel can't find a trace of the wall to rebuild it. Sam's crazy has leaked out all over the identify. At that place's no going back.

Castiel looks up and instead of Sam he sees Hallucifer smirking. "Hello, brother," Hallucifer says as Castiel backs away and hunches against the wall.

The next morn Dean and Sam leave the mental infirmary as Dean delivers exposition nearly Castiel's fate. Cas has gone full-on over the rainbow so they're going to get out him at the hospital, condom from prying demons who volition desire to impale or control him. Meanwhile, Sam and Dean will go along the big fight. They left Meg behind to picket over Cas.

We cut to a chore interview with Meg – she'southward talking to the doctor from before and interviewing for a nursing job at the facility. She'due south going to look out for Cas now. This can only end well.
